Elsa Lama von Buchwald is an Ecuadorean multidisciplinary artist based in New York City.
Her work is conformed by depictions of power and the different relationships in which it presents itself. She takes the power struggles present in her upbringing in Ecuador in comparison with her life in the United States as a reference for the metaphors and analogies in her work. She earned a BA in Arts in Context at Eugene Lang College the New School for Liberal Arts in 2015 and a BFA in Fine Arts at Parsons the New School for Design the same year. She is currently graduating with an MFA in Visual Arts at Columbia University.
